Nasi Lemak Mana Lagi

Let's try something which is of Malay style. Humans tend to get bored eating the same dish over and over again so that's why there are various food on earth. Once you're bored of something, you try something else which is new. Enough said.... presenting Nasi Lemak Mana Lagi. In my personal opinion, this nasi lemak is overrated. It is undeniable that the fried chicken is tasty but the rice is just normal, personally, I prefer the rice at Senibong, Permas compared to Mana Lagi.

I'm not sure if it's open in the day coz i usually go there for dinner. It's located at Perling, near the Temple of Goddess of Mercy. You will not miss the shop coz there's a signboard and usually packed with people when it is dinner time. They also have other side dish besides fried chicken. There are also squid, fried potato, curry, mee etc.. No harm heading there for a try coz there is also a chinese food court along that row of shops. Here are some pictures taken the last time we went... Those stuffs cost bout RM12.00...

Before I forget, this restaurant is operating on self service basis. You have to get your own plate, they ladies will fill in your rice for you then you select the side dishes yourself - ala buffet style. Then, a waiter will take order for your drinks and give you a piece of paper where you will show this to the cashier before making payment.

Wongkok Char Chan Teng @ City Square

I'm pretty sure this restaurant need no advertisement from me. It is reputable enough to have tonnes of review out there. But I would still want to jot this place down coz i was there with my Q Mo...

We had our dinner there sometime in December. This restaurant is not located in CS, in the sense not within your vision in the building but you have to extend your walk to the extended complex, Inner City. I presume this restaurants aim for customer who work in the office building. What attracted me there was the variety of food they offer - from chinese fried rice to western chicken chop. Of course their drinks are also unique with Gu Tian Le in the menu!

Enough said... pictures~~

Hong Kong Style rice with fried chicken cube in pineapple sauce

Q mo ordered spicy noodle
Thick Peanut Butter Toast

Hot tiramisu and cold Si mut milk tea
We spent bout RM40 on this meal. Quite filling though - that's why I think this restaurant is worth the visit if you're at shopping malls. Do take note that the portions of their servings are quite huge, unless you're super hungry, do not attempt a plate of fried rice on your own!

Papa Chop Mama Grill - Taman Universiti

Antoher western food outlet I would like to share. I went there few months back - here are some pics on the food we ordered;

Q mo ordered Chicken Chop + fried bread with sausage

I ordered fish n chips

The big glass of juice over there is carrot milk without sugar - it's really tasty, not to mention with a reasonable price tag.
This shop's location is not quite strategic, that's most probably why they are still serving at such large portion at a reasonable price. However, I find that their menu is a little bit old, the papers despite laminated, still look fragile. Their service is also not of 5 Star services - what can you expect with the price you pay. So it's actually fair that we get what we pay.
This meal cost us bout RM40. Cheap, isn't it? So if you're craving for western food but not willing to let it burn your pocket, Papa Chop Mama Grill is the right place to be at!

Don Sushi @ Perling Mall

Another Japanese Food Buffet at JB... I'm pretty sure most ppl will think of Shogun or Sosoku when heard of Japanese Buffet but this time around, I plan to introduce something different - Don Sushi dinner buffet.

There's 2 branches of Don Sushi which i know of, at Taman Sentosa and Taman Perling. Q Mo n me went to the Taman Perling branch ytd - Perling Mall 2nd floor, 19th August. 1st impression was not bad as there were quite a number of ppl but we still get a place next to the sushi belt. Don't expect sushi to be placed on the belt, there's only like 4-5 kinds of sushi displayed, you will have to order the rests from the menu. Waiter served, as in took our orders. we've ordered some appetizer, Garden Salad, Chawan Mushi, Edamame, Hiyayako. The next round, we got ourselves fishes - unagi, salmon, shishamo, saba and ebi yaki. 3rd round was meat, niku (beef), yaki tori (chicken), and stupidly me - ordered fried rice - I only wanted some rice! but too full after that bowl of yakimeshi.. Nevertheless... we ordered sashimi + some fishes we had earlier during our last round of order. Not forgetting miso soup..

One thing which troubles me is that we have to go through the menu whilst ordering and we have to tell the waiter what we wanted - in which we cant keep track of what we ordered and what has been served. And i feel embarassed having to ask them to take our orders...

On overall... the food was good - at least better than what i had in shogun or sosoku.. price wise.. cheap compared to other buffet restaurant. They charge 29.90++ per head. We paid RM68.80 for all those we had - really worth it. But if you plan to go there to see some pretty + kawaii waitresses, too bad. Majority of the waiters are from overseas - yea.. i said waiter... So rating it:

N = 4
A = 4
T = 4
I = 4
O = 3
N = 5

To conclude, I would love to go there next time but wont wanna sit at the place we sat, too far to get drinks + dessert n there are quite a lot of big nasty flies there... Get yourself a seat near the drinks if you were to go there.

Cafe Iceteru @ Taman Universiti

Gonna introduce this new cafe at Taman Universiti, Skudai. Opposite Number 1 food center. From outside, looks classy + comfy. Q mo and me decided to have some ice there after dinner so we walked in. Unfortunately, there are no "ices" on the menu (why did they name it iceteru then?). Nvm.. we decided to try on something else since we're already in it. Quite a variety of food on the menu, both western + local. We ordered its dinner set, consists of Fish Chop + Mushroom/Chicken Soup + Ice Lemon Tea, we also ordered Banana boat (but it's named as Banana ship on its menu).

We were 1st served Ice Lemon Tea....

Not bad for drinks.

Then served Mushroom Soup... there were a dead fly in the soup, which we requested to have it changed. And lastly the Fish Chop.

Fish Chop was saltish, Soup was saltish, Wedges were not bad, sauce was weird...

Then comes our Banana ship...
Sad coz it's not the original Vanila + Choc + Strawberry and banana too small >.<

All of those costs us RM19.90.. No Service + Gov tax..
Well.. even though it didn't turn out well, but at least it's another experience gained.
