Wongkok Char Chan Teng @ City Square

I'm pretty sure this restaurant need no advertisement from me. It is reputable enough to have tonnes of review out there. But I would still want to jot this place down coz i was there with my Q Mo...

We had our dinner there sometime in December. This restaurant is not located in CS, in the sense not within your vision in the building but you have to extend your walk to the extended complex, Inner City. I presume this restaurants aim for customer who work in the office building. What attracted me there was the variety of food they offer - from chinese fried rice to western chicken chop. Of course their drinks are also unique with Gu Tian Le in the menu!

Enough said... pictures~~

Hong Kong Style rice with fried chicken cube in pineapple sauce

Q mo ordered spicy noodle
Thick Peanut Butter Toast

Hot tiramisu and cold Si mut milk tea
We spent bout RM40 on this meal. Quite filling though - that's why I think this restaurant is worth the visit if you're at shopping malls. Do take note that the portions of their servings are quite huge, unless you're super hungry, do not attempt a plate of fried rice on your own!

Bak Kut Teh @ Jalan Lumba Kuda

I ain't sure if the location of this shop is Jalan Lumba Kuda, but you can get to this shop from Jalan Lumba Kuda. The name of this shop is: Mei Hua, if you are also an avid food lover, this BKT is just beside Botak Asam Fish. Does the name rings any bell??? Another easier way to describe this BKT is this shop is within your vision when you drive from JB to Singapore. You can see this shop behind the fences dividing the causeway and JB town.

The signboard

So, what's so special about this Bak kut teh... That day, when Q mo and me went there, we waited 45 minutes for the food to be served. Why so long, you would ask? That's coz the Bak Kut teh is cooked by charcoal. Even the rice is also cooked by charcoal. Not to mention the hot water in that little black kettle. But what can i say? It's worth the waiting after all. The soup is thick, smell of the ingredients, yet simple. Simple in the sense there is only Bak Kut (Pork Ribs) in the soup - with no other ingredients like meatball, pork intenstine, vege, etc.

Price wise... as you know, BKT by itself is already not a cheap food. So i would say, this BKT here is worth the price you're paying. Find a day and try it out yourself if you think the picture does not convince you on the taste.

Papa Chop Mama Grill - Taman Universiti

Antoher western food outlet I would like to share. I went there few months back - here are some pics on the food we ordered;

Q mo ordered Chicken Chop + fried bread with sausage

I ordered fish n chips

The big glass of juice over there is carrot milk without sugar - it's really tasty, not to mention with a reasonable price tag.
This shop's location is not quite strategic, that's most probably why they are still serving at such large portion at a reasonable price. However, I find that their menu is a little bit old, the papers despite laminated, still look fragile. Their service is also not of 5 Star services - what can you expect with the price you pay. So it's actually fair that we get what we pay.
This meal cost us bout RM40. Cheap, isn't it? So if you're craving for western food but not willing to let it burn your pocket, Papa Chop Mama Grill is the right place to be at!
